Refurbishment of a fabulous old country farmhouse, bringing it up to modern living standards.
Externally needed work to stop water penetration causing damp problems inside. This involved new chimney stacks; hardwood doors and sliding sash windows; sandblasting, re-pointing, cement waterproofing and painting of the external walls; new cast aluminium guttering and a new porch to the rear. An air source heat pump and solar panels were installed to modernise the heating system.
Internal work involved new electrical and heating systems; a chemical damp proof course and cement waterproof tanking system installed; the outer walls were insulated, together with the attics, partitions and ceilings; new kitchen and bathrooms, plastering and decorating.
